3.2. Escrow-Based FCL — Coming Soon

⚠️ New FCL issuance is not open in the production environment right now. The FCL card on the verification-type step shows a "Coming soon" badge — please use Proof of Funds (PoF) and direct payment for now. (If you already have an FCL in progress, its deposit, lock, and payment screens still work.)

An FCL (Financial Comfort Letter) goes one step beyond proof of funds: it is issued only after the importer's payment is actually locked in escrow. Think of it as the non-bank (platform) counterpart of a bank-issued BCL.

1. How It Works

TFlow never holds the money itself. The funds sit only on the blockchain, and TFlow's role is limited to confirming whether the agreed conditions have been met.

  1. Deposit & lock: When the importer deposits the payment, it is locked in escrow under the agreed conditions.
  2. Preliminary certificate: Until the lock completes, the FCL is stamped "PRELIMINARY" and sharing is disabled. Once the lock is confirmed, Share with Seller unlocks.
  3. Document verification → payment: After the exporter uploads the shipping documents and AI verification plus importer approval are complete, the locked payment is released to the exporter's wallet.

2. Fees and Refunds

  • The FCL handling fee is 1% of the escrow amount. (Proof of funds is a flat 1 T-RLUSD.)
  • If you paid the fee but the case is cancelled without the escrow ever being created, the handling fee is reviewed and refunded separately.

ℹ️ We will announce here and by notice when FCL reopens.
